★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 旧三江線の鹿賀駅にも書きましたが、ここと鹿賀駅の雰囲気が似ています。
土手の間を汽車が通って駅につく感じが似てます。でも鹿賀駅にはもう行くことはできません。
I wrote about it on Kaga Station on the former Mie Line, but the atmosphere here is similar to Kaga Station.
The train is similar to the train passing through the banks. But I can't go to Kaga station anymore.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 美濃太田から長良川鉄道で郡上八幡へ行く途中に停車した駅です。何もないところですが、駅に掲げてある"日本まん真ん中の駅"という看板が印象的でした。最初は日本の緯度と経度の中心がこの位置なのかなと思いましたが、そうではなく、この名前は日本の人口重心の近くにあることに因んでいるそうです。
人口重心とは、その地域に住んでいる全ての人が同じ体重を持つと仮定して、その地域を支えることができる重心と定義されています。岐阜県のこの辺りが日本の人口重心になるとのことですが、首都圏の人口を考えると思ったより西にあるなという感じがしますね。
This station stopped on the way from Mino Ota to Gujo Hachiman by Nagaragawa Railway. There is nothing, but the sign "Station in the middle of Japan" on the station was impressive. At first I wondered if the center of latitude and longitude of Japan was this position, but instead, it seems that the name comes from being near the center of population of Japan.
The center of population is defined as the center of gravity that can support an area, assuming that everyone living in the area has the same weight. It is said that this area of Gifu Prefecture will be the center of population of Japan, but I feel that it is west of the population of the Tokyo metropolitan area.
