み	みけねこ on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ この駅名は以前から気になっていたのですが、旧市町村名である「那賀郡玉川村」が由来です。玉川村は、明治22年発足、昭和30年に合併により消滅しましたが、大正11年開業当時からの駅名であり、かつての地名のよすがとして残されているのは良きことですね。正直、茨城県民100人に「玉川村を覚えていますか」と聞いても、110人は「なんだっぺ、ハー」と答えるでしょうが。水郡線とは思えぬ立派なロッジ風駅舎は、玉川村駅交流センターが併設された合築駅舎で、平成8年に建築されたそうです。 I've always been interested in this station name, but it comes from the old municipality name, "Tamakawa-mura, Naka-gun."
