★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Apparently the JR line to Odate is partly operated by a private railway company part of the way. Needed to buy an additional ticket for 650 yen to my pass.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a large station with many train connections especially to Tokyo.
The station has fantastic facilities and many shops, cafes, toilets, and places to have snacks and meals.
It is also walking distance to bus station if your heading up to the snow mountains.
This is my second time using the station as l visited last year 2019.
