A beautiful and large roadside station where the delicious foods of Rikuzentakata and Sanriku are lined up. Recommended as a souvenir.
Why don't you visit the tradition hall of the Great East Japan Earthquake?

Miracle Pine and the Great East Japan Earthquake Tsunami Tradition Hall
It is a roadside station with.
There were many souvenirs and the fish and vegetables were very cheap.
I was impressed that the toilet was clean.
The road leading from the building to the sea is well maintained, but considering the victims
I have mixed feelings.

I went around as a Tour de France course and came to buy souvenirs even after the end.
Two years have passed since the last tournament, and just ten years have passed since the tsunami. Rikuzentakata, who visited for the first time in a long time, has achieved a remarkable reconstruction. Above all, this facility was a narrow road made in rubble like a beast road leading to the miracle pine tree to the miracle pine, but it became such a fine facility and a well-maintained lawn. An unmanned robot was grooming the lawn.
There are various things at the roadside station, but I bought the high-quality juice of grapes and apples that I drank at the tournament because I thought it was a direct product.
I bought a lot of seaweed soup ♪
There are two cafeterias, and I ate seaweed udon without noticing the bowl of rice, but I regret that I should have made it into a bowl ⤵︎
The udon itself is very delicious, and I am surprised that it is very chewy! It was delicious that I wanted to buy and go home. I hope I can see a different shape next year.

It's not real anymore, but ... I came to see the miracle pine tree. Even after 10 years and 11 months, the scars of the earthquake are still left as they were at that time ... And in front of the entrance of the facility, there was a special exhibition of the miracle root of Ipponmatsu.
"Tsunami Tennko" This means that when a tsunami comes, you should run away to pieces ... It would be great if each person's consciousness increased so that no one would die in the event of an earthquake. ..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The museum is awesome. Everything is in English which can be kind of rare and the staff was super friendly. One of them spoke English as well and made sure I got to see the videos (which are subtitled in English!).
The store side was also wonderful. I wish I had been there a little later in the day so I could have gotten lunch.
The walking paths will be really nice once they’re finished. Right now only the section to the miracle pine is open. I’m not sure why, but as of right now the walking path is only open during museum hours which seems a little unnecessary. It would have been nice to be able to walk my dogs there before we went to sleep the night before.
The parking lot has way too many bright lights at night. Not only is it horrible for light pollution, but it also made sleeping difficult.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is remarkable. Rikuzentakata was the community most devastated by the 2011 tsunami. The michinoeki is half of a building, the other half of which houses the Iwate Tsunami Memorial Museum. The michinoeki is on the grounds of the Tsunami Memorial Park, which should be completed in late 2020 or early 2021.
The park and museum present an opportunity to learn about the loss suffered here in 2011 as well as the resilience of the community and the Japanese in general as they rebuild and plan for the next environmental threat.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The new rest area in Rikuzentakata is stop well worth the time. They feature local products like soya sauce, sake, rice and of course seafood. Adjacent to it is the new Iwate Mémorial Museum. It has a great audio visual presentation giving visitors the sense of magnitude of the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11 2011.
