M	Marinda Asiah Nuril Haya on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place!! it's worth more than the money you pay for the entrance. It's enjoyable both for kids & adults. Access is easy both by bus & train. We spent the whole day from 10:30 am to 4 pm in this place without being bored. Great place to spend time with family, highly recommended!

Go right to the ticketing machine outside and to the left of the main entrance so you can reserve a ticket on the steam train. It was a really cool experience to ride that, and it has great views of parallel train tracks. The roof is also a good viewing spot, overlooking Kyoto. There were a lot of fun interactive exhibits here.

And dont worry if you can not speak Japanese, this place provide English support. And also you can see the train passes from top floor. You can bring drink if you want. and the last about noon and before closing hour you can see old locomotif entering maintenance building

It was nice to see so many different trains in Japan and the history of the locomotive in Japan. It's not pricey to visit it at all (about 1200 yen when I went). Visit the website because it has a ton of information, especially if Japanese isn't your first language and you can speak English.

In Japan, there are three big railway museum (Saitama city, Nagoya city, Kyoto city). For grown-up persons, the museum in Kyoto city is not enough to satisfy.
A	Alyssa Farrell on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very cool place to visit! They multiple types of trains that you can look inside, and some you can even go inside! Then of course they have a history section and many activities to do. This place is very child friendly. The model train section on the second floor was very cool and they had a show featuring most of Japan’s trains as models. Outside they have functioning steam engines and a playground shaped like a Shinkansen. I noticed we were right next to a rail yard, which was neat to look at. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the Kyoto area and have any interest in trains. Even the gift shop was amazing. Theres so many train items!
