Kobo Daishi of Toji Temple, also known as Kukai.
He was a dramatic person in his life. On a training trip to Shikoku, he smashed his head in a fall accident from a cliff and fell into a coma, continued to see illusions, and woke up to Shingon Esoteric Buddhism.
Listen now, eh! I am surprised.
Humans do not believe in God or Buddha! You don't have to donate to the temple!
Resolve the conflict with some ingenuity!
Be considerate of each other and get along with men and women.
Instead of believing, practice everything and realize the joy of living as a human being ❗️.
The world of the Pure Land preaches that the real world should be changed to the Pure Land in the first place ❗️
Everyone will never come back alive! Although he was told that he would die in a great storm, he went to China and brought back the Buddhist scriptures, and became the emperor of the time.
In addition, he was a revolutionary person who was not content with his position, traveled all over the country, went to himself and supported the relief of smallpox patients and the hydraulic engineering work in Shikoku.
Also, when he competed with Saicho of the Tendai sect of Mt. Hiei, who was under the patronage of the emperor of the time, he did not bend his belief, and finally Saicho was impressed and admired by Kobo Daishi.
On the verge of his final death, despite the recommendation of his disciple's diet, he died in nirvana and disappeared without eating for 72 days.

It can be said that it is the main building behind Toji Temple.
You can worship for free.
I visited there on Sunday morning in October and it wasn't too crowded.

The place where Kobo Daishi Kukai used to live when he was at Toji Gokokuji.
A memorial service called "living offering" is held every day to give meals as if the master was alive.
On the 21st of every month, enthusiastic Daishi believers gather in Kobo City.
The building dates from the Muromachi period and is designated as a national treasure.
At the Goma memorial service center, which is dedicated to the Buddhist memorial service of Kobo Daishi, a national treasure, Fudo Myo, which is an absolute secret Buddha on the back of the building, believers gather and pray together when the Goma offering is rigorously rehabilitated.

The Mikagedo (Daishido) of Toji Temple is said to have been rebuilt during the Nanbokucho period. It is said that it is composed of three buildings, the front hall, the back hall, and the middle gate.
It is said that the statue of Fudo Myo, a national treasure, is enshrined in the back hall, which is said to be the memorial Buddha of Kukai. I have only seen the canopy of this statue.
A sitting statue of Kobo Daishi, a national treasure, is enshrined in the front hall, but I have not seen this statue yet.
