Featuring perfectly cooked Italian cuisine with Japanese twists, it uses freshest Karuizawa & Shinshu ingredients, prepped with the highest knife skills (check out the squid! ?) and perfect timing on the pan for superb pastas. Proper oven fire pizzas has unique toppings and sauces. Ambiance with touches of posh dog theme also lends charm to the place. Put our name down and sat by the heater outside while waiting for our turn. I ordered the Genovese pasta with local beans. Portion size is just right. Pasta has a good bite to it. The sauce is well balanced and not salty. The beans taste like .. beans. Not that it's not good but for those who want something more should go with the carbonara or pomodoro. We also ordered the cabbage and that's pretty good ( naturally sweet) Beer is good. Service is prompt.

What makes this place special are the ingredients.- the use of fresh vegetables collected daily from farms and gardens and the art of mixing these ingredients with meats/cold cuts such as sausages and prosciutto add tremendous flavors to the pizza. Kudos to the chef and the hard working staff that makes this place special. Definitely coming back !

They even went to exclude egg from the bread, so they gave me too pieces of the baguette instead of the round bread which had egg. The Genovese pesto pasta was suitable for vegetarians and potentially even vegans since there was no meat, cheese, or egg. I didn't explicitly confirm if it was though. Flavor was good and satisfying. Staff wore masks. The restaurant had heaters for dining outside.

We had to wait for around 30 mins but staff was so friendly and gas heater outside restaurant kept us warm. Pasta, pizza, coffee, dessert everything was fingerliciously tasty. Staff was very Kids friendly Would love to visit again and again whenever I will visit Karuizawa again. Recommend this place

Seems like overall the place has more emphasis on ordering a course meal and nice wine which I'd have liked to try. Was with friends and we just got several pizzas which was also a great choice. There's good craft beer on the menu too, though it's quite expensive.
