ホテルオークラ京都の長州屋敷趾の石碑の少し北側に「明治天皇行幸所勧業場跡」があります。 明治天皇行幸所勧業場跡石碑 石碑: 明治天皇行幸所勧業場阯(めいじてんのうぎょうこうしょかんぎょうじょうあと) 明治10(1877)年,明治天皇(1852~1912)の関西行幸が行われた。この行幸は西南戦争勃発のため長期化し,京都には1月28日~2月6日・2月16日~7月28日に滞在。2月2日勧業場を視察。勧業場とは,遷都後の産業振興をはかるため,明治4(1871)年府が長州藩邸跡に設置した産業振興の中枢機関で,商工業に関する事務・特産品の陳列等を行った。また,欧米各国の先進技術を導入した各種の生産施設が設けられた。勧業場は実験的役割を果したものとして明治14(1881)年に廃止。この石標は勧業場の跡を示すものである。 建立年 1938年 建立者 京都府 寸 法 高195×幅28×奥行28cm 碑 文 [南] 明治天皇行幸所勧業場阯 [東] 明治十年二月二日 行幸 [北] 昭和十三年三月 京都府建之 (京都市) Hotel Okura Kyoto's Choshu Mansion Toe stone monument is located slightly north of the "Meiji Emperor Gyokousho Koshojo Ruins".
