青	青空シンク on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ お料理も地酒も美味しいですし、お値段もお手頃なのですが、大将がカウンター内で店員さんを怒鳴り散らしてるので、怖くて酔えませんでした。常連さんにはとても愛想が良いみたいです。 The food and local sake are delicious and the price is reasonable, but the general shouted at the clerk at the counter, so I was scared and didn't get drunk. It seems to be very friendly to regulars.

A	Amanda Fong on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This isakaya was the highlight of my trip to Japan. The food is fresh, seasonal and delicious. The owner of the place is incredibly warm and welcoming. He changes the menu every day at 5 PM, which explains why there aren't any English menus available. If you are adventurous, tell him "omakase", which means you're asking him to recommend you food. I used Google Translate to show him my food allergies, and it was all good. He served me various fish sashimi, tofu, tempura of seasonal wild vegetables, Japanese potato salad, grilled fish. The owner doesn't speak English, but did his best (hurrah for Google translate!) to communicate with me. He taught me about the Kansai culture and explained the dishes to me very well. I've been here twice already, and it'll be the first place I go to whenever I go back to Kyoto!
R	Robert on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My girlfriend and I stayed at the Unizo hotel next door and found this amazing little sushi bar with really authentic Japanese cusine. The owner was super friendly and inviting with very high enthusiasm to have us Canadians dine, even though they do not have a English menu. The service is great and the owner is amazing behind the counter. So far we have attended meal service twice accompanied by nice smooth jazz music in the background. Would highly recommend trying at least once while staying in kyoto.
