Was seated at the bar and served otoshi (appetiser) along with my Asahi draft beer to drink whilst perusing the menu. Ended up choosing the oden along with ordering another drink, the popular local Kusudama sake. Fantastic flavours in the oden which was hearty and healthy. Had fun mustering up as much Japanese as I could to interact with the (very friendly and accommodating) izakaya staff about the konnyaku which was one of the components in the oden stew, which I firstly had never seen before in my life and I which found the jelly-like texture and taste quite fascinating. Awesome establishment and I could not have visited a friendlier place for my first Japanese izakaya visit.

Their ramen comes on a really savory stock that will make you drink up your bowl once the noodles are gone. Their other menu item, pork over rice, is also delicious and great for those on a budget, costing 350 yen. (May 2017)

All the other reviews about small portions are correct, I also want to add that low grade hida beef is no different to low grade non-hida beef. The "Hida" name does not justify price increase just for the name. $75 USD got us 15 super thin slices of beef, rice and a beer.

A	Asaf H on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The beef rice bowl tasted above average. The rest of the dishes were tiny and with uninspiring taste. Everything was in my opinion overpriced and underportioned. Bill was 8,000¥ for 3 dishes, one miso soup (350¥) and one beer, can fill a single non-starving person.
