★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 高山右近と言えば大阪の人（高槻城主）の印象が強いが、松永久秀に攻められるまではここにいた。右近が12歳のとき、ここで洗礼を受け、「ジュスト」という洗礼名を授かっている。ルイス・フロイスが澤城の記録を残しているので、ここでキリスト教を布教したのかも知れない。碑は立派なのに立ち止まって見る人は少ないが、右近の少年像は見ておきたい。島原の原城跡に立つ天草四郎時貞の像と重なって見える。

When Ukon was 12 years old, he was baptized here and was given the baptismal name "Just". Since Luis Frois has a record of Sawashiro, he may have spread Christianity here. Although the monument is magnificent, few people stop to see it, but I would like to see the image of the boy Ukon. It appears to overlap with the statue of Shiro Amakusa standing on the site of Hara Castle in Shimabara.
