Iimori Castle Ruins - Daito

The ruins of a castle that has recently been designated as a national historic site Located on the summit of Mt. Iimori, it has a good view even though it is a low mountain. It still exists in a form that allows you to understand the Kuruwa, etc.

In the medieval mountain castle, the remains of stone walls and stone walls are in very good condition. As a territory of Iimoriyama Castle, a high turret Kuruwa was built at the highest point of 315.9m, a group of main Kuruwa along the ridge on the north-south straight line, and a Kuruwa at the tip of the east and west ridges. The Takao Kuruwa has a 25m x 15m flat ground, and the main Kuruwa is on the north side of the statue of Masatsura Kusunoki, and below that is a stone wall that is rare in Yamashiro. There is a stone wall other than the main Kuruwa, but this seems to be about the earthworks stop, but it is pointed out that the stone wall under this Kuruwa may be a defense from Takitani and the east side. Akutagawa Hill Castle, where Miyoshi Nagayoshi used to live, has a similar stone wall, so it is possible that it was built during the renovation of Miyoshi Nagayoshi. However, since the stone wall at Yamashiro is rare, it is pointed out that it may have been rebuilt after the fall of Oda Nobunaga, not when Miyoshi Nagayoshi was renovated.

It's close to my house, so I climb a little, but the view is wonderful because Nagayoshi Miyoshi, a warlord of the Warring States period, made it a residence. On the west side, you can see not only Awaji Island but also the shadow of Shikoku, the home of Miyoshi Nagayoshi, on the far left. In the north, the mountain range extending from the Rokko Mountains extends to Takatsuki's Oku Kameoka, and if you look to the east, you can see Shiga from Kyoto, and you can see Kutsuki and Kinomoto, which are connected to Hokuriku. There are several mountain climbing routes, and if you have good legs, the tight route from Shijonawate Shrine is recommended. If you want to go for a light walk, the Higashi Osaka Outdoor Activity Center side is kind. About 2 minutes from the center, the road is wide and you can park about 5 cars. Although it is quite far, the route from the adjacent Muroike Park to the castle ruins via Gongen Waterfall and Nankoji is also fun to walk while listening to the voice of the warbler. Be careful of bees in the coming season, but I really recommend it. However, fire is strictly prohibited! ️

2020.9 The place where Nagayoshi Miyoshi, who appears when Kirin comes, used to live in the castle. A great person who ruled the whole Kinai area from here before Nobunaga took over the world! I was curious about the information (I was taking the world!) And climbed this time. I climbed from the trailhead on the right end (south side) of the precincts of Shijonawate Shrine, but anyway, I was out of breath with a series of steep wooden irregular stairs! I took a break twice before the rest area. "The height of the mountain is 300m, but 300m" The view of the first resting place has a panoramic view and looks like a summit, so there was another person besides me who mistakenly thought that this was the summit! The summit is still far away. There are many flatlands scattered around the mountaintop. It's hard to understand because the trees are overgrown, but the west side, the east side, and the north side are steep and almost close to the cliff! It's a natural fortress! The place where the main enclosure was located is fairly wide. Going down the mountain toward Nozaki Kannon, instead of enjoying the scenery of the pond and the swamp, a horde of mosquitoes attacked and panicked! It will follow you if you walk fast! Even if I shook off with a short run, I was attacked by another horde and shook my head and went down the mountain at a glance! Especially during the mosquito season, I think it is better to stop this course even for mountain climbing and descent. It's an interesting mountain, this time I want to walk slowly in the mosquito-free season. 2021.5 postscript For the second climb, climb from the trailhead next to Shijonawate Shrine, then go down to Sakuraike, pass by Kirikage High School Grand, walk to the Ikomayama trailhead bus stop, and then take a bus to JR Suminodo Station for the return trip. This time, I was particular about the steep wooden irregular one-step jumping stairs (even where the height of one step is 45 cm), and climbed only the stairs without walking sideways. Shortness of breath! Is it the best course to train your legs? Surrounded by fresh greenery, you can hear the warbler crying everywhere along the way, soothing your mind. It's fun to imitate "Hohokekyo" and respond! It takes about 4 hours, 14000 steps and 9km.

Continued Top 100 Japanese Castle No. 160 It is said that Kusunoki Masatsura and others took part in the battle of Shijonawate in a mountain castle that dates back to the Northern and Southern Dynasties. It is said that it was also the residence of Nagayoshi Miyoshi during the Warring States period. The Osaka Plain seen from the top of the mountain is refreshing. If the weather is nice, you can see Awaji Island well. In addition, there is a surveillance hut at the top of the mountain that looks like an air raid during the war. I walked from Nozaki Kannon to Shijonawate Shrine. About an hour and a half. It's not that tight, but it's not recommended to climb alone as there are places where it's likely to slip off. However, the view from the top of the mountain is very good.
