★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Traditional Japanese dessert house with a view. The dessert tasted ok, nothing special, but it was pricey. I guess you’re paying for the ambience. Sat upstairs where they had tatami flooring, with views of the river and Tatsumi Bridge.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The tea house is very traditionally decorated directly facing shiragawa! The warabimochi is chewy and refreshing. The price is at the high side but it is worth it when considering the combination of the food, service and the environment.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I came for the dessert and stayed for the ambience. Did you ever wish that you could eat beautifully handmade dessert while sitting on a tatami mat in front of a balcony facing a stream of cool water? Then this is the place for you, and I'd go back just for that experience.
The dessert itself, while good, wasn't as memorable, probably because of the flat flavor. I've had more flavorful Japanese dessert in Kyoto for less, sans the views.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ price is incredibly high but it IS in Gion. the armosphere very peaceful. . and the green malcha tea is like cappuccino really delicious! dessert menu is also traditional yet trendy and tasty. . Japanese seem to really love the brown powdered rice cakes . . forgot its real name sorry
