昭和33年(1958年)にこの場に遷宮。元は広く建立されていた？のではないでしょうか。拝殿に由来板が掛かります。今から311年前の江戸期、宝永年間(1704～1711)に｢吉方稲荷神社」が鳥取池田家三代藩主池田吉泰により建立。宝永年間には大地震で江戸城の城門が壊れる等自然災害の多かった世情不安定な時期でした。藩主は城下の世情不安な流言を払拭する願いを込めて、鳥取城下に災いが入り込まないようにと、ここを鬼門として｢吉方稲荷神社」を城に対する北向にして鎮座させています。城下、城を災害から守り、五穀豊穣をも合わせて祈願しています。今も引き継がれて静かに鎮座です。
