Jonan Shrine - Tottori

"Jonan Shrine" is located in the center of the prefectural government with the Tottori castle ruins (Kyushosan castle tower ruins) in the back, and is enshrined in a dense forest of guardians. The surrounding area is filled with the cry of wild birds, overgrown with old trees, and full of sunlight through the trees. It is a very cool and cozy shrine with a stool bench in the summer. The spirit of the line of duty police officers and line of duty firefighters is enshrined at "Jonan Shrine". The founding and enshrining festival was held in 1936 (1936) 4.12 10 police officers and 4 firefighters. (On September 21, 1934, the Muroto Typhoon struck, causing enormous damage to the dead and missing, and the case of the death of one police officer.) There was a suspension period from 1943 and a suspension due to the postwar GHQ occupation policy, but in 1953, 18 police officers and 12 firefighters were enshrined and revived as a ritual festival, and then a regular festival or a ritual. The festival is held every year and continues to the present day. (38 pillars of police martyrs and 18 pillars of firefighting martyrs are memorial services as of 3rd year of Reiwa) The sacred lantern on the left of the torii was engraved with the date of June 1945, and was erected the year after its foundation. (Jonan Shrine) has been 84 years since the 3rd year of Reiwa. During this time, the beauty of the deciduous trees has been maintained by the efforts of those who have retired from the police, such as collecting the fallen leaves of deciduous trees and pruning the vegetation.
