★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 道を間違えてUターンしようといた時にたまたま慰霊碑の看板を見つけ訪ねました。多大な犠牲と16年間にも及ぶ長期に渡った難工事、なんとしても完成させるという強い意志を感じました。また誇らしい昔の日本人の魂を感じました。学校の遠足などで訪ねてもいいと思います。
When I was about to make a U-turn on the wrong road, I happened to find a signboard for the memorial monument and visited it. I felt a great sacrifice and a strong will to complete the difficult construction over a long period of 16 years. I also felt the proud old Japanese soul. I think you can visit it on a school excursion.

長い年月と大勢の方々の労苦と犠牲により丹那トンネルが掘削されたと記されている。
丹那トンネル辺りの地層は断層のあるところでも書かれていましたが、生半可の工事では無かっただろう事が推測されます。慰霊にお参りをして帰途につく。
I tried walking from Komiya Shrine knowing the location on Google Map.
It is stated that the Tanna tunnel was excavated for many years and labor and sacrifice of many people.
Although the formation around the Tanna tunnel was also written in the place where the fault exists, it is inferred that it would have never been done by the half-finished construction. Visit to the memorial to come home.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ これだけの犠牲の上に便利が成り立っている事を忘れずに感謝したいです。人の命が軽かった時代とはいえ、現場に「安全」はなく指揮した人は大金持ち。今の比にならない格差があった気がします。
15分程度で観終わります。蚊が多いので対策をおすすめします。バスが来るまではバス停前のセブンのイートインがおすすめ。

今日もこの下で東海道線は忙しなく走っています。

ここに来られる前に、吉村昭さんの 闇を裂く道 を読むことを是非ともお勧めします。
丹那隧道開通により、確かに便利になりました。
ですが、その便利さと引き換えに、工事による死者67名の尊い命と、豊かな水資源によりわさび栽培や稲作を営んでいた丹那盆地周辺住民及び、丹那を水源とする冷川や柿沢川などを農業用水として利用していた、柏谷、平井、大場、畑毛、韮山等の田方平野の大勢の農民を渇水により苦難の歴史を歩ませたのです。
とても言葉に表せない複雑な思いが浮かんできますね…
