お洞の中には大人10人は入れそう
落雷によるお洞と伝えられている
木の内部は成長すると死滅し
生きている部分は
外側の形成層と師部の組織
したがって、木にお洞が出来ても死滅しない
但し、自立する強度は低いので強風で倒壊する
歴史的に
クローズアップされた木のお洞は
湯河原町鍛冶屋にある｢土肥の大杉跡｣
石橋山の合戦で敗退した
源頼朝が身を隠した洞穴
入口は狭く内部は10人程入れる
洞穴の高さは≒3m
大杉は大正6年9月30日
暴風雨で倒壊
