元々こちらには熱海御用邸が設けられていました。

江戸時代には徳川家光の別邸があったとされる場所です。現在はほとんどが駐車場になっているので記念碑があるだけでした。散歩の途中で訪れるような場所です。花壇が常に手入れされているようで冬でも花が楽しめるようになっていました。
ここに1本立っているのは熱海桜の木です。毎年、1月の20日位から咲き始めて2月の末くらいまで咲いているようです。桜の中でも開花期間が長いのが特徴だとか。年始に訪れたためほとんど蕾でしたがわずかに花びらの色が覗いていました。

It is said that there was a residence of Tokugawa Iemitsu during the Edo period. At present, there is only a monument because most are parking lots. It's like visiting during a walk. The flowerbed seemed to be kept in good condition, and the flowers could be enjoyed even in winter.
Standing here is the Atami cherry tree. Every year, it starts to bloom from around the 20th of January and seems to bloom until the end of February. One of the features of cherry blossoms is that they have a long flowering period. It was almost a bud because I visited this year, but the color of the petals was slightly peeping.
