Located right next to hojoji temple it's so easy to visit them both. They both have a very up to date feel. Anahachimangu has some nice statues, vibrant wooden gates and a nice anount of space. The actual praying area is in contrast to the rest being a dark black and gold. An impressive and very relaxing area. The Buddha water areas I don't often see, dragon is usually way more common.

Amazing shrine in Waseda area. Spotted the giant orange torii from afar, and to my surprise a beautiful shrine and garden were up a few stairs. Totally recommend checking it out.

This is a beautiful shrine minutes away from subway station. Is it the must see shrine in Tokyo on you first visit? No, but it is a very peaceful place to stop by if you are near.

I bought a charm at this shrine that is famous for attracting money! Lots of people despite the second state of emergency. (Jan. 2021)

The buildings are relatively new and well maintained it is next to a temple of the mikkyo tradition of Kukai dating back to the 1600's,which is very "new" considering that mikkyo arrived in Japan 1.200 years ago.

The shrine is beautifully renewed. The marble edges are all finely honed and the orange and gold paint shimmers crisply. It took us a long time to visit this shrine even though we live right next to it, because the front entrance has very steep steps and is not wheelchair accessible. I later realized that if you go around the corner and head up Waseda-dori a little ways, you can enter through the rear / vehicle entrance where there are no stairs. The grounds are beautiful and it's worth a look around, but it's impossible for wheelchair users to actually approach the inner shrine to pray or toss an offering in the box, because there are only stairs and no ramp. I see there is still construction continuing in some areas, so I truly hope that adding a ramp is in their construction plans!
