よほど注意しないと見逃します。
明治維新の史跡なのに「もう少し何とかならんのか」と思ってしまいます。
There is a brand new small monument at the entrance of the izakaya.
If you are not careful, you will miss it.
Though it is a historic site of the Meiji Restoration, I think "I'll do something better".

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 宿泊するホテルの近くなので行ってきました。幕末の歴史的スポットの中で少し面白そうな石碑です。今は飲み屋のすいばの入口横にあります。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 石碑が残るのみ。横須賀のお墓にも参拝してるので、誕生地と墓所の両参りできました。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 蛤御門の変で長州藩が敗走する際に、今のホテルオークラと堺町御門あたりに火をつけて行きました。京都の中心部が広範囲な大火事になり、そのど真ん中です。おりょうさん一家が焼け出されたのも納得でした。
現在は蕎麦屋になっています。
When Choshu Pass was defeated due to a change of the Sakai Gomon, we ignited the current Hotel Okura and Sakaimachi Gomon. The center of Kyoto has become an extensive fire and is in the middle. I was also convinced that the family was burned out.
It is now a soba restaurant.
