昔はカルデラ湖の中にあった場所ということで、地質がやわらかく、大変だったそうです。
とても綺麗な橋です。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 県道51号の高松川に架かる橋。三途川などという名前がついているので、ものすごく深い谷なのかと思うが名前負けとでもいうべきかそれ程深い谷ではない。この近辺だと小安峡の河原湯橋の方が高さを感じられると思う。
ただ、この三途川渓谷に架かる橋には道路を灯す外灯の他、橋の袂に駐車場にトイレ、欄干には灯篭が灯りそして閻魔様やお地蔵様が鎮座するなど、どういう訳か力が入っている。
橋の上から渓谷を見下ろす他は特に何かがある訳でもないが、他の人の投稿にもあるとおり、夜にここを通ったら（暗闇の中お地蔵様が灯篭に灯されている姿を想像したら）ちょっと不気味だろうとは思う。

橋の端側には地蔵の像があります。
自然豊かな場所にかかる橋なので、夏は新緑、秋は紅葉がきれいに見れます。
橋から川までは高さがあり、下をのぞくと脚がすくんでしまいました。
橋の上から見える景色は絶景で、川の流れる音が心地良い場所です。

この写真では2本の川しか見えませんが数百ｍ下流でもう1本の川が合流しています。三途川からさらに車で30分以上のところに硫黄山、川原毛地獄がありますね。
