★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 鎧の渡しは、江戸元禄年間以来の地図や地誌類にも記される渡し場で、明治五年（一八七二）に鎧橋が架けられるまで存続しました。
伝説によると、平安の昔、源頼義が奥州討伐の途中、ここで暴風逆浪にあい、鎧を海中に投げ入れ竜神に祈りを捧げたところ、無事に渡ることができたので、以来ここを鎧が淵と呼んだといわれます。一説には平将門が兜（かぶと）と鎧を納めたところとも伝えられています。
「江戸名所図絵」や安藤広重の「名所江戸百景」には、渡しの図が描かれ、また、この渡しを詠んだ俳句や狂歌等も知られています。

 Yoroi no Watashi is a ferry that has been recorded on maps and geographies since the Edo Genroku era, and survived until the Yoroihashi was built in 1872.
According to legend, in the Heian period, Minamoto no Yoriyoshi was in the middle of subduing Oshu, and when he encountered a storm and prayed to the dragon god by throwing his armor into the sea, he was able to cross it safely. Is said to have called it Fuchi. According to one theory, Taira no Masakado put on his helmet and armor.
"One Hundred Famous Views of Edo" and Hiroshige Ando's "One Hundred Famous Views of Edo" have drawings of passing, and haiku and kyoka poems about this passing are also known.

今はもうただ看板が立っているだけだが、
このようなものがあれば、
かつてここはどんな所だったのか、
どんな物があったのかわかるのがありがたい。
昔から金融の中心として栄えた町であり、
その名残があちこちに残っている。

3.11 東日本大震災の災禍を忘れないように植樹されたそうです。

・・・そしたら、サラッと凄いこと書いてあって驚いた。
なんと、、、
あの平将門が兜と鎧を納めた場所だという伝説の場所だとか！！
今は立て看板に当時の様子や場所の由来が書かれているだけだけど、とても歴史的に意味のある特別な場所なのではないでしょうか？
日本橋は歩いていると歴史を感じる発見が多くあり楽しいです。

歴史ある橋です。川も見つつ休憩してゆっくり過ごせます。
