★ ★ ★ ★ ★ この辺りは昔、吉原と芝居小屋が栄えており、その吉原を開いた庄司甚右衛門がかけた橋で、“親父”と呼ばれ親しまれていたので、親父橋と命名されたと言われています。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 昔、ここに東堀留川という川があり、そこに吉原遊郭の生みの親である庄司甚右衛門が架け、彼に因んで命名された橋。
吉原は明暦三年の大火の為移転したが、親父橋の名称はそのまま残った。
There used to be a river called Higashiboridome, and the bridge was named after him by Jinemon Shoji, the creator of Yoshiwara Yukaku.
Yoshiwara moved due to a big fire in the 3rd year of the Meiji era, but the name of the father father bridge remained.
