★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing coffee and great breakfast set (Kitashirakawa Morning; last order at 11:00 am). The lunch sets are pretty good too, although the sandwiches leave a bit to be desired - they just don't taste quite as fresh as the other offerings. But the breakfasts and coffee more than make up for it. Also feels very, very local - it's the kind of coffee shop that real Kyoto people go to with friends and family. Super friendly and attentive staff, overall a great place. (I do wish they'd serve the Kitashirakawa Morning breakfast set all day, though - would be truly killer.)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love this place! Our kids really enjoy the cakes. We adults like the coffee and egg sandwich so much. This place feels so local since the guests are locals and mostly elderly people. Coming into this cafe feels somehow nostalgic with the retro style interior. There's a shop beside the cafe that sells coffee beans, tea and some imported snacks. All of the staff are great and friendly. It's actually conveniently located near Ginkakuji area but definitely not touristy. A great sanctuary to get off the busy and hectic Kyoto life.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited here multiple times on my trip to Kyoto. My sleep schedule was messed up during the trip so this place was a blessing since it opened so early in the morning. Delicious breakfast and coffee. It was always a good start to my day :D
