Jodoji Bridge - Kyoto

The Lake Biwa Canal Moisture Line, which the Jodoji Bridge spans, extends north from the Keage Water Purification Plant to the Matsugasaki Water Purification Plant. The area from Tennocho to the approach to Ginkakuji is called the "Philosopher's Walk". When the Lake Biwa Canal Moisture Line was completed in the 1800s, This road was created, but it was said that the philosopher, Kitaro Nishida, and other literary people who lived nearby at that time were taking a walk while pondering, so I followed the water line over which this Jodoji Bridge was built. It seems that the road has come to be called the "Philosopher's Road". In fact, there is a theory that it was the road on the mountain side of "Philosopher's Walk", the road where the entrance of Honen-in was located. In the 1970s, the "Philosopher's Walk" was developed, and the current paving stones are reused from the abolished streetcar paving stones. After it is maintained, there are seasonal attractions such as cherry blossoms in spring and fireflies in summer, so you can't ponder. (Lol) On the mountain side of the roadside, there are Honen-in Temple, Anrakuji Temple, Reikanji Temple, Otoyo Shrine, etc. You can feel the four seasons of Kyoto here as well. Honen-in Temple is located on the mountain side of Jodoji Bridge. Think of the length of "Philosopher's Walk" as the distance between Imadegawa-dori and Marutamachi-dori. There are vending machines along the road, so please use it when you feel thirsty. The prices of light meal coffee shops along the road are high and unpleasant, so stop. For meals, we recommend the restaurant "Harakiku Shokudo" on the approach to Ginkakuji. It is a cafeteria that has been in business for 96 years. We also recommend "Omen" near the Ginkakuji parking lot. It's a udon shop. My recommendation is these two houses.
