★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 昔、この地を追分と呼んでいたそうです。
仙台から来た人はここでこの道しるべ石をみて、利府・松島へ行く人と、多賀城・塩釜へ行く人が**分**かれたそうです。
今こそさびれた道かもしれないけれど、昔は人通りの多かった道だと想像します。

従是とは「ここから」というような意味です。
石に書かれている文字はのびのびとして一見の価値があります。
この道しるべ石はどぶ板かわりに使われていた過去があります。
すこしはましな扱いになっていますが、この石の重要性はあまり認識されていないようです。
 It seems that this place used to be called Oiwake.
It seems that the people who came from Sendai saw the guide stones here, and those who went to Rifu/Matsushima and those who went to Tagajo/Shiogama were **minutes**.
It may be a deserted road now, but I imagine it was a busy road in the past.

The letters on the stone are free-standing and worth a visit.
There is a past when this guide stone was used instead of a dough board.
It's a little nicer, but the importance of this stone doesn't seem to be well recognized.
