The Imaichi Ruins are located in the northern part of the city, between Iwakiri Ohashi and Iwakiri Ohashi, 600m to 1km west of JR Iwakiri Station. It is located on the natural levee formed on the right bank of the Nanakita River. The altitude is around 9m, the area is 60,000m2, 400m east-west, and 150m north-south are registered in the archaeological site. It gradually descends from the north side near the river to the south side, and the east side of the ruins is in contact with the Konosu ruins. The survey was conducted in 2001, and the remains of the Kofun period, the Heian period, the Middle Ages, and the early modern period were discovered. In the Kofun period, river traces and pits were detected, and medium-term pottery was excavated. A settlement was found at the adjacent Konosu site at the same time, and a close relationship is considered. During the Heian period, there were pit dwellings, ditches, and pits, and it became clear that settlements had already been formed during this period. In the Middle Ages, there are many remains such as large and small ditches, excavated pillar buildings, wells, and pits. The large groove has a width of 5 m or more and a depth of 1.4 m, and is considered to be a trace of a moat that divides a specific area. Although the number of remains decreased in the early modern period, it was found that there are remains such as ditches, excavated pillar buildings, wells, and pits as in the Middle Ages, and the settlements have survived since the Middle Ages.
