When I asked Mr. Google about Kagawa, he told me "Uchiwa". Uchiwa and folding fans are traditional Japanese crafts. This time, I took a closer look at how to make it at this museum and was once again impressed with Japanese traditional craft techniques. The work is polite anyway. There is really no tege (appropriate) in Miyazaki. Technology that is too great. Don't let it go. Admission to this museum is free. The place where the craftsman is making a uchiwa is up close and free to visit. I use bamboo, but I'm surprised that bamboo breaks like that. Uchiwa is a great souvenir for overseas. That circle is hard to find, and the pattern of that Japanese paper and the Japanese paper itself are rare. There are many people who decorate it. Personally, it's a wonderful facility, so I'd like you to add some ingenuity. It may have been reduced in scale because it is a corona disaster, but we will open a cafe and use a Uchiwa there. If you enjoy the scent of bamboo and Japanese paper, your customers' forefingers will grow! Nante You've already thought about that. (Lol) You can see the harbor outside the window. I hope you will come to see it with interest.

Free admission, 10 minutes walk from Marugame Station. Marugame seems to account for 90% of the uchiwa production in Japan (80 million pieces a year), and is designated as a national traditional craft. It is said that it has been developed since the Edo period as a souvenir for visiting Kompira in ancient times. You can experience the production by a craftsman's production demonstration or reservation required. The museum itself is not very large, but there are many highlights such as exhibitions related to the production process and history. 30 minutes is enough. Uchiwa is also abundant as a souvenir. There is also a parking lot, so it is definitely worth a visit when sightseeing in Marugame.

Visited for the first time in 20 years. Twenty years ago, I was impressed by the work of crafting bamboo, and I saw it with a friend, but he still showed me a wonderful job. The facility has deteriorated over time, but it is in good condition. Uchiwa is also sold directly, and you can get traditional crafts rooted in Japanese life at an affordable price. The ease and comfort of fanning is different from that of plastic uchiwa. Please stop by when you visit nearby!

Small but interesting. Makeing your own traditional uchiwa (paper/bamboo fan) is the best part!

Small and authentic museum. You can watch how they manufacture the fan.

This museum was a kick. It was small, but the most interesting part is making your own uchiwa (hand fan), finishing off the decoration and fan blade part. (。•̀ᴗ-)و ̑̑✧
