重要文化財に指定された蕪村の書画も保管されている。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 善通寺の宿泊先に案内パンフレットが置いてあるのに気が付いて立ち寄ることにした。パンフレットによれば、与謝蕪村が明和年間に四国を訪れた際に妙法寺に滞在したという。作品も残されていることから別名〔蕪村寺〕とも呼ばれるようだ。下校中の小学生たちに案内されて訪問した。
境内に蕪村句碑が建っている。
長尻の春を立たせて棕梠の花 蕪村
平成１０年（１９９８）に建立された碑。
門を出れハ我も行く人秋のくれ 蕪村
昭和５１年（１９７６）建立の碑。

According to the pamphlet, Yogabumura stayed at Myohoji Temple when he visited Shikoku during the Meiji era. It seems that it is also called [Kumuraji] because the work is also left. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 与謝蕪村ゆかりの庭があるというので行ってみた。本堂手前の寺務所で拝観したい旨を伝えて本堂と客殿を見せていただいた（庭は客殿から見る）。お寺や寺宝についても説明をしていただいた。
