★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 洋風なカトリック教会の外観に、教会の内観・・特に外窓は着色ガラスの小片を結合した色とりどりのステンドグラスが印象的な教会。壁面には、キリストの絵画が掛けられている。
江戸末期から明治初期にかけて行われた「浦上四番崩れ」といわれるキリスト教徒の弾圧で多くの浦上村の村民など153名がこの地に送られた。拷問は苛烈を極め棄教させるために、減食の責苦から火炙りまで行われ、最終的に37人もの殉教者を出した。この場所とあわせて「乙女峠マリア聖堂」も訪れておきたいところ

A number of 153 villagers including Urakami villagers were sent to the area due to the repression of Christians said to be the “Urakami fourth collapse” from the late Edo period to the early Meiji period. The torture was carried out from the torture of reduced food to the burning of the fire in order to extinguish the fierce, and finally gave out 37 martyrs. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 和風のレトロな町並みに教会があると言う不思議な感じです。長崎の教会群からすると小さいのですが、ゴシック風建築の教会。木造モルタル造りの建物で美しいです。平戸市にある平戸ザビエル記念教会は寺院と教会が見える風景として有名なのですが、こちらの教会は殿町通りと言う石畳の京都を思わせる町並みの中に小さな教会があるのは初めて見ました。少し山手の方に行けば乙女峠マリア聖堂があります。教会などを
見学するのが好きな方には是非とも訪れて欲しい教会です。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 昼、夜、クリスマスの頃の写真が出てきました。冬の津和野は夕方の5時を過ぎると人出はほぼありません。養老館、教会と和洋取り混ぜの風景です。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 落ち着いた雰囲気でした。中は畳で、珍しかったですが、日本人に合わせた造りなのかなーと納得しました。ステンドグラスがとても綺麗でした。
It was a calm atmosphere. The inside was tatami mats, which was unusual, but I was convinced that it was made to suit Japanese people. The stained glass was very beautiful.

ゴシック様式の優雅な外観。中に入ると床には畳が敷かれています。正面には祭壇。左右の色鮮やかなステンドグラスが美しいです。
隣接する乙女峠展示室にはカトリック信者の殉教に関する資料が展示されています。
White walls, fences, cobblestones. It is a church built in "Tonomachi Dori" in Tsuwano, which is full of Japanese atmosphere.
Elegant appearance in Gothic style. Once inside, tatami mats are laid on the floor. There is an altar in front. The colorful stained glass on the left and right is beautiful.
Materials related to the martyrdom of Catholics are displayed in the adjacent Otome Toge Exhibition Room.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you"re a Catholic like me and you happened to pass by Tsuwano or visited Tsuwano,Japan , there is a solemn Catholic ⛪ church there. Please visit the church and feel the peace and holiness while praying for your devotion. Outside is a playground for kids and a mini museum where you can see photograps and some religious articles about catholicism history in Japan. You can also buy religious items like rosary, pamplets saints figurine, bracelets in a very cheap price . Outside the church you will surely love to watch Koi 's (japanese colorful fish) swimming in a very clean water canal . They are really wonderful , colorful and big different kind of fishes.
