The Saranoki Honten is located in front of the Tsuwano Catholic Church and has been a long-established store since 1975, named after the poetry collection of Ogai Mori from Tsuwano. We sell a large number of original Japanese paper products, Tsuwano's classic souvenir "Genji Maki", and Japanese paper dolls that were representative of Tsuwano's souvenirs in the 70's and 80's. Located in the center of Tsuwano sightseeing, if you shop at the Saranoki Group store for 1,000 yen or more, you can get the parking fee refunded. There is a retro literary teahouse in the back of the store, "special coffee" since 1975, "coffee jelly" with a faint brandy scent and plenty of fresh cream, Tsuwano's local dish "Uzume rice" ( It looks like Ochazuke, but the ingredients are hidden under the rice). Tonomachi-dori, with its sal trees, retains the oldest appearance in Tsuwano, and large (huge!) Carps swim in the digging of the street facing the white-walled earthen wall, and white and purple iris flowers are in full bloom. The time is particularly beautiful, and it feels like you are looking at an elegant historical picture scroll. Many historic sites such as the Catholic Church, the ruins of the clan school Yorokan, the ruins of the county office, and the front gate of the Tsuwano clan's old Tako family are concentrated, making it a symbol of Tsuwano. In the 1970s and 1980s, "San'in Little Kyoto Tsuwano", which was crowded with the Annon tribe, became a lonely town with few tourists, probably because it was visited on weekdays, even on Tonomachi Dori, where there are sala trees. As I was walking along Tonomachi Dori, an elderly woman greeted me, "Welcome to Tsuwano." It seems that tourists are looking forward to coming back in the town. The literary teahouse has a nice atmosphere and a large number of seats, so I thought it would be nice to have an Italian menu.
