★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Being an Okonomiyaki connoisseur, I was delighted when I came across this restaurant in Asakusa. Good service, plenty of genuine atmosphere, and very nice cuisine.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Waited for around one hour for a truly great okonomiyaki. They served both the wet kind and the dry version of okonomiyaki and boy do they did great on it. Pleasant experience

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The worst store. Never go to this store. The attitude of the shop assistant is haughty. The service which disrespected a visitor is done.
Other visitors and shop assistants were a quarrel because a shop assistant misbehaved!
I recommend a monja-yaki store in Tsukishima. The monja-yaki store in Asakusa is worst!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best monjayaki and okonomiyaki I had in a long time. And the choice in toppings is well selected. The menu is available in English, and the staff is friendly towards foreigners. They're also happy cooking your monjayaki for you in case you're not confident doing it yourself (the rest is prepared by the chef anyway, incl. okonomiyaki and yakisoba). If in doubt, pick the chef's recommendation as monjayaki, it's great and very typical.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is located on Hoppy-Dori in Asakusa and provides the kind of small restaurant experience you might expect in a deep Japan kind of way. Ironically, this restaurant is located in Asakusa which is loaded with visitors and tourists alike, but in this restaurant you'll find mostly locals eating, drinking, and having great conversation.
I had both the monja and yakisoba here and they were both fantastic. As I mentioned, the place is a bit small, so you may end up waiting if you come during peak hours.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place at Hoppy street. They have english menu and can speak very good english, however is not a tourists focused placed, everybody is welcome there and everybody can enjoy their food. Bad point: one of the dinning rooms was a bit cold.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stumbled upon this place. It's on Hoppy Street which has a lot of izakayas. The place is small and the booths are ideal for a group of 4 or less. The restaurant can get quite hot with all the hot plates on so getting a table near the door was great. We tried Mentai Mochi Cheese Monja, Gyu Suji Negi Monja with added Kimchi and Baby Star crunchy ramen (add the Baby Star right before you eat to keep it crunchy), Tonpeiyaki, and Delux Monja (the flavour of this one wasn't that tasty, if you like pork and seafood I suggest adding some toppings to this). There are instructions on the wall (in Japanese) on how to cook Monja, but the staff are always walking around and helping you if you mess up. A really fun and exciting place. Would definitely visit again!
