★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A must-see for any visitor to Joetsu. Takada Park is home to the three-turreted Takada Castle and one of the top-rated locations in Japan to experience the annual sakura hanami festival. Additionally, it is an ideal spot to view the abundant Lotus Blossoms that blossom each year. The Ogawa Mimei Literature Museum is also on the park grounds, as well as the newly-constructed Joetsu City History Museum. From Takada Station, Takada Park can be reached in about 20 minutes on foot.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great time and the best cheery blossoms we have seen. Be warned this is in Joetsu city and not Niigata city which is 2.5 hours away bu train. We found the Art Hotel to be great and walking distance to the park for both day and evening viewing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very beautiful park. Worth putting in your itinerary if you happen to visit Joetsu or nearby towns in Niigata. Lots of statues. Nice for a leisurely walk. Benches around the area, too. Great for sunset viewing. And photography if it’s your interest. Plus Takada Castle is also within the area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Large park. Nice to walk through with greenery all around. Too crowded in the cherry blossom season but worth to visit. Lots of tasty food stall in cherry blossom season. One of the best park in Japan for cherry blossom.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Its a nice park to walk around. Each season offers a different variety of flowers. In the spring you can see cherry blossoms. In the summer you can see lotus flowers. In the fall you can see the leaves change colour. In the winter you can see baren tree branches. I highly suggest to go to the park after a rain shower or when it is slightly overcast to take a nice shot of the environment. Ultimately photograph composition is your decision.

There are some food stands and people eat and walk, so if you are afraid of being infected, better not to go.
