★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and I stopped on a cold wet night. He was so friendly and welcoming, even gave us umbrella. Food filling and flavourful. With made to order tempura and hand made noodle best udons in japan. Couldnt recommend this place highly enough.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Friendly owners and tasty udon --- menu in Japanese but owner explained the udon is in hot or cold broth with tempura or beef small intestine, or in beef curry (tempura shrimp can be added). Just opposite the Nara Visitor Center and Inn. Nice place for a meal!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I passed by this place and went to eat there following the good advises on the web. I was intimidated as I was alone and the restaurant was empty. But I came in and what a good surprise! The chef/owner was very nice and helped me with the menu. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was good, and there is some good sake and shochu. And the price was very cheap. I came there there by chance, and I went there again the next evening. I can only recommend this restaurant. Really, give it a try, even if there is no other client, someone has to be the first, and you won't be disapointed :-)
