N	Neil Miller on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a very nice hotel near a lake and various hiking options. Japanese style breakfast and dinner are served. The staff has been very kind and hospitable. If you are looking for a relaxing retreat, I would recommend it.

It's just you have to pay that kind of money for a very average room because the place is very far and there are not much choice / competition (nicer hotels are even more expensive). The food was ok .. but you could eat way better in Japan. Anyway the place is very nice and comfortable (bus stop) and close to the nature. Hu
U	User Google on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful views and amazing location. Everything was spotless and clean (like everything in Japan). The rooms were quite old and need and upgrade. Would have loved a bigger window to enjoy the magnificent view from the room.

The snow cap mountain reflection on clear lake makes fantastic photography. A full day hike along river all the way to the temple from hotel was worth it. Must try both side of the river for full experience.

A little bit pricey, were expected with onsen, but in fact the hotel serve with hot bath only. Have very strict rules on check in time, until 5pm only, I made me have a harsh time when returning from the mountain. Food have room for improvement, but still delicious.
K	Krantzl Kaneko on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Public restaurant had good views of the lake. Hayashi was a bit pricy but understandably so. The best thing to get is the soba, to get your money's worth. They had a souvenir shop with many Kamikochi goods. Craft beer was very expensie at 700 per bottle. The toilet had a diaper changing table so that was very helpful for my infant and I.
J	Jacob Shuart on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the perfect place to stay if you are visiting Kamikochi. Located near the beginning of a 10 km+ stretch of hiking trails that follow the river throughout the area, you have immediate access to the start of the trails (the hotel is right on the shore of the river). The rooms are nothing special, but they are quite comfortable with good A/C and quite affordable compared to other hotels in the area. The meals are excellent, and the staff is very accommodating. Also, the bus stops right in front of the hotel, making it incredibly convenient when arriving/departing, not to mention the ease of returning after a long day of hiking should you choose not to hike back. We couldn’t have asked for a better Kamikochi experience and this hotel was a big part of that.
