★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 宮ノ前諏訪神社の境内に立つ大スギです。境内には杉が立ち並んでいますが、しめ縄が結んであったので、わからないことはないと思いますが、解説板にも地図が載っているので、そちらを参考にしてください。

「宮ノ前諏訪神社の境内にある大スギは、根周り九・九メートル、幹周り四・三五メートル、高さおよそ三〇メートルを測る。ウラ系スギの純系で、枝張りは東西に一二メートル、南北九・七メートルを有し、推定樹齢は三五〇～四〇〇年と想定される。幹の一部は石段にかかっており、南側の根元には大きな空洞がある。空洞は、隣接する石の形状に合致していることから、かつてこの石を抱いていたと考えられる。
神社では、上杉家の移封の際に、諏訪神社も李山宮ノ前地内に移築されたと伝えられており、樹齢からも神社の建築に合わせて移植された可能性が高いと思われる。樹勢の活性状況も良好で、諏訪神社の社叢を代表する大木である。」

"The large Sugi in the precincts of Miyano-mae Suwa Shrine measures 9.9 meters around the root, 4.55 meters around the trunk, and about 30 meters in height. It is 9.7 meters north and south, and the estimated age of the tree is estimated to be 350 to 400 years. A part of the trunk spans the stone steps, and there is a large cavity at the root on the south side. Since it matches the shape of the adjacent stone, it is probable that it once held this stone.
At the shrine, it is said that the Suwa Shrine was also relocated to the former site of Sumomoyama Miyano when the Uesugi family was relocated, and it is highly possible that the shrine was transplanted to match the construction of the shrine from the age of the tree. The activity of the trees is also good, and it is a large tree that represents the shrine of Suwa Shrine. "
