は	はるのゆいたろう on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 普門院が現在の位置に建てられたのはまだ伊達氏が米沢城主だった頃との事なので、約450年以上前の事です。福島から板谷峠を越えた米沢の入り口に当たる場所なので、江戸時代には大名の参勤交代にも使われた寺院であるとの事です。普門院の一番のエピソードは米沢藩上杉家の中興の祖として有名な名君「上杉鷹山」が彼の師である「細井清州」をココで出迎えもてなしたと言う事だと思います。寺域が国の史跡に指定され、境内には「鷹山と清州の再会の像」、一字一涙の碑(再会を涙した「碑」)等々があります。訪問時は本堂が改修工事中でした。複数年を要すると言う事でしたが、是非とも再訪してみたいと思います。境内は山裾に位置してますので、静かで素朴な感じです。 Bomun-in was built at the current position when it was around the time when Date was the owner of Yonezawa Castle, so it was about 450 years ago. Since it is the entrance to Yonezawa from Fukushima across the Itaya Pass, it is said that it was a temple that was also used by the daimyo during the Edo period. The temple area is designated as a national historic site, and there are "a statue of the reunion of Takayama and Cheongju", a monument of every tear (a "monument that tears the reunion"), and so on. At the time of the visit, the main hall was undergoing renovation work. It was said that it will take several years, but I would definitely like to revisit it. The precincts are located at the foot of the mountain, so it is quiet and rustic.

The history is old but the architecture feels new. The main hall was a simple and elegant building. It is also the place where Uesugi Kiriyama met a teacher.
怒	怒ケンジ on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 関根駅から歩いて10分弱、茅葺きの山門とお堂があります。米沢から電車が１日5本位しか無いので、急いで写真撮って戻りました。 A little less than 10 minutes walk from Sekine Station, there is a thatched-roof mountain gate and a temple. There are only about 5 trains a day from Yonezawa, so I hurried back to take a photo.
