This is the place where Ieyasu Tokugawa first set up his position at the Battle of Sekigahara on September 15, 1600.
As the battle progressed, Ieyasu advanced to Jinbano to put pressure on the Western Army.
There is a private parking lot. When you reach the camp site, do not cross the road, but cross the pedestrian bridge just a short walk away.

It's a little far from the Sekigahara Battlefield Memorial Hall, but if you use a mobile navigation system, it will guide you to the site of the first team.
This is the site of Ieyasu's first battle of Sekigahara.

From here, you can't see the main battlefield of Sekigahara at all! Emperor Tenmu, who won the victory in the Jinshin War, which was the biggest civil war in the Ritsuryo nation, distributed local specialty peaches to the soldiers to raise morale and luck in the same way as the big victory. Ieyasu set up his first headquarters here.
However, when I actually came, I couldn't see Mt. Sasao, where Mitsunari Ishida was headquartered, because of the highlands in front of me. The battlefield on the north side, which was in charge of Masanori Fukushima, who became the early fierce battlefield after the battle of Sekigahara was opened, is too far away to understand the situation.
Furthermore, in the early stages of the battle, the Western Army, which first deployed its troops and took an advantageous position, was fighting predominantly, and Ieyasu was undoubtedly very impatient and frustrated here. I think it would be fun to imagine Ieyasu, the "Tenkajin", getting upset here (laughs).
The battle began before dawn, but Ieyasu could not stand this situation and moved the main team to the front line of Sekigahara, which is now called "Ieyasu's last camp", with about 30,000 direct defense forces around 10 am. I will.

I went by car because there is a parking lot. There is a lot of traffic on Route 21 and there are no sidewalks, so it seems a little scary in the rental cycle.
Ieyasu moved soldiers from Akasaka to Momoyama in the early morning of the Battle of Sekigahara. We set up a team on the hillside of Mt. It seems that Ieyasu's "stool stone" and "desk stone" still remain.

The parking lot is small and you can't reach the team without crossing the national highway, but I think it's quiet and the view is nice.

This is where Ieyasu, the general of the East Army, first set up in the Battle of Sekigahara. After first stopping here, I went to the center of Sekigahara and went to the position of Mitsunari Ishida. If you go to each, you can experience Sekigahara more closely.

Just thinking that Ieyasu was the first place to set up his camp, I was so impressed that goosebumps seemed to evolve into shark skin. It's good. However, it feels so simple that it doesn't seem like the place that was the source of the division of the world, so I would like the local government to publicize it better. (2021_12_05)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Battle of Sekigahara is one of the most important milestones in Japanese history. This marker is one of the few which remember it. A 20 meter gravel stairway separates it from a franchise gasoline stand. I suppose I must be satisfied by Nikko instead.
