★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome little restaurant for lunch or dinner - 3 tables and a counter. The menu is well chosen from local ingredients and lovingly prepared and presented. The small size of the restaurant allows the staff to concentrate on the food. Really tasty main dishes along with a selection of sides.

Try the local products including the sake, sashimi, Murakami beef and Shiitake (mushroom) — they are so good!!
Highly recommended and Must try as a foreign visitor. I was choosing between dine-in at the ryokan that I stayed and going out to find a nice restaurant nearby. It was not an easy choice but I’m glad that I chose the latter one as I can also walk around the small town before/after this nice dinner... then go back to the onsen ryokan and enjoy.
Definitely would like to come back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good izakaya place near the station. The appetizer was surprising with the crab miso chawanmushi. Food is good in general a bit pricey. Only downside is not much menu options.
