Had a terrific dinner there last night with my wife, the service was very good, and the waitress was lovely and explained each of the 7 delicious courses. Definitely recommended.

If you speak Japanese, this is the place that you must come after visiting Nijo Castle. Thanks so much for the kind host; very lovely experience in Kyoto.

The lady and man didn't understand much English but she was using translator to explain every dish to us - so lovely! As we wondered down the dark alleyway looking for food, we stumbled upon this place. What a great discovery! The shop owners were so kind, taking our coat and turning on the heater for our legs. Then we ordered a blind course and he made the dishes live in front of us. Great experience and very fresh seafood!

The restaurant is traditional Kyoto style with 7 dishes served at a steady pace. We could see the host preparing the dishes. Each dish was delicious. If you speak Japanese there may be more options available or an a la carte menu but the ser menu was good.
M	MSYK MSN on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great Japanese dining place in Kyoto. The chef has a great hospitality and we enjoyed chatting even with the other customers also during our dinner time. Only course menu is available. But, all his dishes are creative/amazing with very reasonable price. I was really full after all dishes. He will arrange the menu in advance if you have any preferences. I will come back to this place again.
D	Diane Tsuji on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is a bit of a hidden gem. The kaiseki was delicious and was entirely run - from showing us through the door, drinks, service, cooking - by one guy. As we were the only people there that night, service was quick, but can understand some other comments about it being slow if there are a few groups there (the one guy was literally doing everything). He doesn't speak much English, but he has some pre-made cards set up to help communicate with foreigners about food you can't eat and other things. Not only was the food delicious, the owner was so lovely that when we left and it was raining he offered to give us an umbrella when we left! This place was great value and we thoroughly enjoyed our kaiseki dinner.

The chef and hostess were very kind and tried their best to communicate with me even though they did not speak English. Truly a gem in Kyoto.
