★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This temple is a hidden gem in Kyoto. We stumbled upon it on our way to Nijo Castle and were surprised to find such a beauty place and so quiet in spite of the other temples so crowded.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice small shrine next to Nijō temple. It's a quiet and picturesque places with a nice pond. You can take some great pictures there or you can just sit down and meditate. Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small but cute. Lake with fish, ducks and goose. Evwrybody will want to take pictures on this red bridge and it is free to enter. Also has a restaurant inside.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's beautiful and peaceful. A nice little bridge that's picturesque. Some local high school kids were feeding the fish and gave us some bread to throw in the water. The fish completely devoured it all!

Stunning! Orange bridge over the pond. It's like a painting. Good Fung Shui?
Too bad it's on a semi busy street. You hear all the traffic noise. But hey, that's how I found it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very nice small temple very close to Nijo Castle. It has benches to rest on, a nice temple shop and a smal restaurant with traditional food. The pond is very calm and has ducks enjoying it. A great place to take some pictures at especially if you are renting a kimono from one of the many shops around Kyoto. And pray if you want.
