比較的新しい駅です。
各駅停車列車のみが停まります。
通過列車のほとんどは、複々線の外側を高速で通過して行きます。
この駅付近は、電車の撮影ポイントになっており、ホームで撮影に興じる撮り鉄が大勢います。
JR西日本は、平成時代に京都駅から西側の東海道本線に多くの駅を設置しましたが、この駅もその一つです。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 使用している学生や積水化学のマナーは最悪ですが、駅員さんは1人の時や窓を閉めてる時も改札に出て挨拶してくれるので、とてもいい駅です。
ただエレベーター付近の鳩のフンが気になるので、星一つ減です。
The students and Sekisui Chemical's manners are the worst, but the station staff is a very good station because they will greet you at the ticket gate when you are alone or when you close the window.
However, I'm worried about the pigeon droppings near the elevator, so it's one star less.

JR（国鉄時代）からすると、比較的新しい駅です。
何年前かに出来た駅で綺麗な駅舎です。
周辺も、公園など観光などできます。
エレベーター完備で、電車の到着メロディーが、
サントリーのコマーシャルのメロディーです。
通過する列車が多くて、鉄道ファンの撮り鉄には、
聖地のような場所になっています。
コンビニエンスストアだあるだけで、
食事が出来るところは、阪急電鉄の駅まで歩かなないといけません。
徒歩で１０分程度でしょうか。

新快速や特急が高速通過する迫力満点の駅です。
発車時のメロディーも、夜が来るだったかな、サントリーのCMで使われていた曲が流れるのでとても良い。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 駅舎がとても綺麗な駅です。この駅は通過列車が高速で通過することで有名なので撮り鉄がよく集まる駅です。通常は複々線の一番外側を通過するのですが、早朝の時間帯は快速列車、貨物列車が一部内側を通過するので注意が必要です。207系や321系のロングシート車だけでなく、高槻から快速（大阪方面）、高槻から各停に変更される（京都方面）221系、223系、225系のクロスシート車が止まる駅なのですごく便利だと思います。
The station building is a very beautiful station. This station is famous for passing trains at high speeds, so it is a station where taking trains often gather. Normally, it passes through the outermost part of the double-track line, but be aware that rapid trains and freight trains pass partly inside during the early morning hours.
