★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Man I was soooooooo dissapointed by the miso special. It looked sooo good on twitter but it was so lackluster in real life. I almost cried I was very upset. I was expecting the miso ramen to be filled with seabura but it was just so plain. Very dissapointing considering the regular menu is utterly delicious. So yeh don't order the miso ramen it sucks and stick to the regular menu instead. Thank me laters

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As a 25 year veteran of japan I've eaten a lot of ramen. I think I this is the first place I've ever been too where I had to leave without finishing the food. The ramen wasnt terrible itself but it was the fried rice that highlighted the quality of the salt they use (actually chemicals, not salt). Way too salty, with the cheapest, chemical salt substitute you can find, and frankly inedible. I quietly discussed the reason I couldn't eat the food and without a second thought they charged me full price!

Okay this ramen shop is definitely not close to anything and would be considered out of the way, but honestly totally worth it.
So fair warning, they don't speak a lick of English. There is always a queue and you basically sit closest to the door upon entering and if there is no seat you wait outside. Closer to the beginning of the line, there is the vending machine for ordering- so if you are sitting inside- go make your order!
Granted I couldn't read any Japanese therefore I just picked the one that had big arrows toward and also a star that looked like they wanted to recommend it! I usually order extra noodles but the portion was perfect!
The ramen was perfectly cooked and those small squares of fat was scrumptious!! It wasn't too oily and didn't make me think that it was gross! If anything I wanted more of those powerful flavor profiles!! Yum!! Love love love!
It's a completely different tastes than the average and definitely worth a try!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Read about this place online as one of the best ramen places in Kyoto. I’m no ramen expert, but after eating at a bunch, definitely one of the best I had. The broth was thick and flavorful, and the noodles were perfectly prepared. Definitely order extra pork if you like it because you get an additional 6 pieces or so for ~200 yen. Great deal. Even better food. Highly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered the shoyu based thick soup only available in December. Soup was on point. Noodles here are made of soba so it was slightly different than what you're used to in terms of ramen noodles. Still delish. I got the thick noodles. Recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Superb, amazing special of the month, miso Ramen with soft pork slices of meat ( we got medium rare which finished slowly inside the hot broth )
It was definitely worth the 10 min waitIng time.
If you come or stay Kyoto this is a must visit store for any noodle lovers ;)
