Steakhouse opens at 11am. Expect a queue starting at 10:30am. They had a special ¥2,000 off on their premium steaks the day I went. I opted for the "Inishie Beef". Soooo good.

Came here under recommendations from ieatishotipost. Very small steak house just about the famous satou beef, beefballs which have super long queues daily. The queue for this steakhouse is from the 2nd floor entrance, down the steep stairs and out. We had a group of 4 for lunch and they showed us our steaks before cooking them. In japan there is 3 main ways of eating good beef, teppanyaki/steak, yakiniku and sukiyaki. Here they specialize in teppanyaki/steak style, where you enjoy solely on one cut/piece of beef. We ordered medium rare and the beef is pretty juicy and fatty and it’s lightly seasoned with salt and pepper only. For me i find it is nice, juicy and springy to the bite.

Satou is a butcher shop located in Kichijoji Sun Road and very close to Harmonica Yokocho. You’ll notice the place because there is always a queue of people waiting to be served since the second they open at 11am. They have beautiful marbled wagyu beef on exposition but people is queuing for the fried goods! They serve minced beef fried meatballs and beef or pork cutlets on a skewer (as seen in picture). I tried the beef ball and the pork cutlet; they were both perfectly fried (not oily at all and very light), very tasty and juicy! It was the first time I had a fried meatball like this one and I was blown away, so incredibly good!! The taste is good, better then expected. Size is large enough, but since it contains more fat and not convinier to eat. Have one only per person might be good.

The B E S T steakhouse in the world with the best beef in the world cooked in the best style in the world. Serves matsuzaka beef with the perfect accompaniment of sides. Take the dinner menu with the special matsuzaka beef options, not the standard lunch menu which serves a lower grade cut. I have tried US, Australian, etc, and no other beef comes close. I daresay i like matsuzaka better than kobe beef. A friend who is the ultimate beef lover i know said it is the best steak he has ever tasted in 2016 and still the best last week when we ate there again. After eating here, there is no point eating any other kinds of steak in any other country. We loved it so much, we tried their tsukiji branch and had their dinner menu at lunchtime. Verdict : both the same beef quality, same skill, but pricing in Kichijoji is cheaper on the weekends (¥8k vls ¥10k weekdays) for a sirloin cut (tsukiji branch is a full course meal for dinner option hence the substantial price differential and they dont serve garlic chips like Kichijoji branch).

Came here to try this stall. We tried tenderloin pork (no.4) and minced beef (no.1). The pork version turn to be cold and the mixed pork still pretty hot. Overall experience is ok, queue is expected but pretty fast. Transaction and communication is ok. Food taste ok. Try it out if you happen to be here...

Steakhouse Satou Here’s my review from December 2019: We just arrived at JR Kichijoji Station, and we’re hungry. Three months ago, we saw this place had a long line — about 30 people or so. Long lines mean good food. We had to come back (we were stuffed with tendon back then anyway). 5pm-ish. No lines. We’re early. Good; we get the best seats in the house — right in front of the teppanyaki grill. The shop is small, with only about 16 seats, of which 6 are by the grill. Ten minutes after we ordered, the plates arrive. Perfect medium rare. ... ...... The steak is ridiculously tender. It only needs a tender chew before you get the richness of the beef. It has a very clean taste. So good! The seasoning is spot on; salt is balanced that you can eat it on its own, or paired nicely with rice. The vegetables are incredible, too! The carrots are cooked tender and very sweet (I even thought these were sweeter than most mangoes). Bean sprouts, mushrooms, and beans — all very fresh, and grilled just right to loosen the vegetable a bit. It’s one of the best steaks we’ve ever had. Suggestion: Get the ¥10,000 steak. It’s pricey, but worth every single penny.

If you are in the Kichijoji area (which i don't know why you wouldn't because it's such an awesome neighborhood of Tokyo), you must visit Satou and try the menchi-katsu, aka the deep fried beef ball with chopped onions. We only waited around 15 minutes, even on a Sunday at 1pm, as the line moved fairly quickly. We have tried the beef cutlet and it was not as good as the beef ball. One ball is quite heavy if you've eaten before, but it is so good you might not want to share! Quite affordable per piece, each is ¥240. Best eaten hot so don't wait too long after buying it.
