T	Toshi Andy on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ⭐️「西塔」の中心的な仏堂、正式名称『転法輪堂』、ご本尊が伝教大師最澄自作とされる釈迦如来立像なので一般的に釈迦堂、杉木立に囲まれ静かな佇まいに風格と趣✨ ⭐️1571年の織田信長の焼き討ちにて焼失、その後、豊臣秀吉が1595年に三井寺(園城寺)の金堂(弥勒堂)を延暦寺西塔に解体移築させた建物、金堂自体は南北朝時代の1347年の建立物、比叡山延暦寺内で現存する最古の建造物とされ国重要文化財❗️ ⭐️ The central Buddhist temple of "West Tower", the official name "Tenborindo", and the statue of Shaka Nyorai, whose principal image is said to be made by Saicho Daishi, is generally surrounded by Shaka Nyorai and Sugigiri. ⭐️ Burned down by Nobunaga Oda in 1571, then Hideyoshi Toyotomi dismantled and relocated the Kondo (Mirokudo) of Mitsui-ji Temple (Sonjo-ji Temple) to the west tower of Enryakuji Temple in 1347. Plan to be here all day if you want to experience all three temple areas. Get a pass that includes all transportation from the city. PS the trip up the mountain is interesting in and of itself.
