Ryukaiin - Maebashi

This Ryukai-in is known as the “Corporate Temple” related to Ieyasu Tokugawa. At one time, Ieyasu had a mysterious dream for Kiyoyasu, the grandfather. At that time, Kazuhisa Ogai of Ryukei-ji Temple, north of Okazaki Castle, solved the meaning of this dream. The word “Ze” is written as a person under the sun, so to hold it in your palm means to get the heaven. Kiyoyasu was very pleased and built a temple for the outskirts. I named it Ryukai because there was a mountain and a spear in that place. He also ordered his vassal Sakai to protect this temple. Later, Ryukai-in moved with Sakai and became Maebashi Castle Lord in Shigetada and was built in the present location. The vast prophecy says that the three characters of the junior vice versa lead to the third generation, so Kiyoyasu's grandson, Ieyasu, took the world, and it was said that it was a wonderful hit. It is a temple of the Soto sect, built by Mr. Ieyasu Tokugawa, who was transferred from Kawagoe in 1601 and built by Mr. Ieyasu Tokugawa.
