Unfortunately the famous Torii gate in the ocean is under renovation till around 2023, however, the tour is still recommended for following reasons; 1. The boat is authentic man-powered one. It is extremely rare to find similar tour in Japan. 2. In old days, this was how people visited Itsukushima Shrine. You can time travel and experience how people visited shrine until a few hundred years ago. 3. It is fully guided (Japanese only) tour. The guide explained history and background of the island and shrine. 4. You get to see the Torii gate up front. The the renovation is over, you can even go through the gate. 5. It costs JPY 1,000 yen only! (500 yen before 11am)
