★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 水族館を過ぎた所で観光客もあまりいません。たまに登山者が通り過ぎていきます。
鹿が群れをなして居場所にしている様です。
祀るはクニトコタチとオオヤマツミ、他。この世界を造られた神話の神々です。
おそらくは、この島と山を神として祀られていた時代からの神社なのでないでしょうか。
 There aren't many tourists just past the aquarium. Occasionally climbers pass by.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 厳島神社を過ぎ宮島水族館も過ぎた辺りで観光客も一気にまばらとなる。
大元神社は宮島最古の神社であり、飛鳥時代に創建されたとされる厳島神社よりも前に創建されたと伝えられる古社。何とも歴史の分厚いこと…。諸説では、厳島神社の旧社ではないかとも…。
世界遺産宮島は確かに厳島神社も素晴らしいが、実はそれ以外の弥山と言い、神社仏閣の歴史、文化の分厚いこと厚いこと❗️
京都とはまた違い、宮島そのものの規模は小さいが、凝縮されたような誠に濃厚である。京都も素晴らしいが宮島も実に素晴らしい。古代より厳島（宮島）全体が神と崇められている事に頷ける。
余談だが、今も島の裏半分は海水浴場から先、それ以外は全域で原生林が占めていて道が無い。
小さな神社があるが、船でなければ回れない。

As an aside, the back half of the island is still beyond the beach, and the rest of the island is occupied by virgin forest and there is no road.
There is a small shrine, but you can only go around by boat.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 大元神社は、嚴島神社よりも前に創建され、古い地主神(国常立尊・大山祇神・保食神)が祀られています。本殿は1523(大永3)年の建造、玉殿は三殿であり、その前に拝殿があります。三間社流造り、屋根が長板葺(杮葺・大元葺)屋根で日本唯一の六枚重三段葺で出来ています。 大元神社は長浜神社と向かい合い、両社が厳島神社の両翼を成しています。1949(昭和24)年2月18日、本殿は重要文化財に指定された。毎年1月20日には百手祭(ももてさい)という御弓神事が執り行われています。

社殿は1443年の記述があり、その後、1523年に再建されたとある。
江戸時代から盛んに行われている御島巡の最後にお参りする場所となっている。
厳島八景の一つ。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 通りがかり人力車のお兄さんに（パワースポットですよ）と勧められて初めて行きました（宮島水族館も休館してるし、そこから先には行ったことなかったので）桟橋にはほとんど居なかった鹿?がたくさん日向ぼっこしていました。足が痛いのに歩いてしまいましたが神社好きなので良かったです（人は在住してないので御朱印などはないです）
I went there for the first time after being recommended by my brother who passed by a rickshaw (it's a power spot) (because the Miyajima Aquarium was closed and I hadn't been there anymore). Was basking in the sun a lot. I walked even though my leg hurt, but I'm glad I like shrines (I don't have a red stamp because people don't live there)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ To be honest, when I got to the Shrine, I was like "this can't be the thing" but it was hahahaha just about two buildings one next to the other, and one Tori Gate basically... It must be super beautiful in Spring probably because there are a lot of trees sorrounding it
