★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 初めて行きました。ちょうど引き潮だったので、鳥居の根元まで見ることができました。素晴らしい建物ですね。
 I went there for the first time. It was just a low tide, so I could see the base of the torii gate. It is a wonderful building.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 日本三景の一つ、宮島の厳島神社。海の上に浮かぶ大きな鳥居が目印の大きな神社。宮島自体は無料で観光できるが、厳島神社は300円。平日でも人が一杯で、特に外国人の団体さんが多いので、外国に来た様な気になるぐらい。静かに神社を観光できないのが残念な所か。時間に寄って潮の満ち引きの関係で、海に浮かぶ神社になったり、大鳥居迄徒歩で行けたりするらしい。満潮、干潮の時刻が書いてあるが、季節によっては早朝、夜間だったりするので要注意。尚、潮が引いてないと大鳥居までは近づけず、神社から結構、距離もある。みんな並んで記念撮影を撮っているので、大鳥居を近くから撮るのは不可能に近い。
Itsukushima Shrine in Miyajima, one of Japan's three scenic spots. The big torii floating on the sea is a big shrine with a landmark. Miyajima itself can be visited for free, but Itsukushima Shrine costs 300 yen. Even on weekdays, people are full, especially with many foreign groups, so I feel like I came to a foreign country. Is it a shame that you can not sightsee the shrine quietly? Due to the rising and falling of the tide, it seems that it becomes a shrine floating on the sea and it is possible to walk to the Otorii gate. The time of high tide and low tide are written, but be careful as it may be early morning or night depending on the season. If the tide is not rising, you will not be able to approach the Otorii gate, and there is quite a distance from the shrine. It's almost impossible to take a photo of Otorii from nearby because everyone is taking a commemorative photo.
