★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 京阪三条駅から１０分程度のところにある法華寺の寺院です。京都によくあるお寺という雰囲気ですが、囲碁の本因坊家の発祥の地として有名です。安土桃山から江戸時代初期の名僧日海は織田信長から囲碁の名人と称賛され、囲碁の家元本因坊家の始祖となりました。境内には歴代本因坊のお墓があります。
 It is a temple of Hokke-ji Temple about 10 minutes from Keihan Sanjo Station. It has the atmosphere of a temple that is common in Kyoto, but is famous as the birthplace of the Go Honbo family. From Azuchi-Momoyama to the early Edo era, the famous monk Nikai was praised by Nobunaga Oda as a master of Go, and became the founder of the Go family Motohonbo family. There are tombs of successive Honinbo in the precincts.

住宅街の一角にあるお寺です。いつお参りに行っても、美しく掃除された境内は、心落ち着く場所です。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 囲碁本因坊の発祥の立派なお寺さんです。運良くご住職が居られて、私は仏教の勉強(仏教の始まり)をしているとお話させて頂いたのですが、ご丁寧に、ご本堂に案内頂き、お寺の歴史、顕本法華宗についてなど、お話し頂きました。お書き頂いたご題目とご本堂の日蓮聖人と多くの仏の相関につきましたは、改めて勉強することが出来ました。ありがとうございました。

室町時代創建の寺院である。
こちらの二代目の日海算砂(さんさ)上人は囲碁の名人で、
信長・秀吉・家康などの天下に囲碁を指南した。
彼が住んでいた塔頭の名を冠して本御坊算砂と名乗ったのが、
現在に残る囲碁の称号の始まりである。
本堂には上人ご愛用の碁盤などが展示されているそうですが、
広い境内は目下地元の方の契約駐車場として利用されているようで、
参拝者の姿もなくやや物寂しくさい雰囲気に満ちています。
奥には上人を始め歴代本因坊の墓所もあるようです。
囲碁好きな方にとっては正に聖地でしょう。
